Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, maple syrup, and five-spice powder. Add the seitan slices and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add marinated seitan and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes per side.
- For the sauce, combine plums, ginger, garlic, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook until the sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
- Place the cooked seitan on a baking sheet, brush with some of the plum sauce, and bake in the oven for 10 minutes to glaze.
- Serve the glazed 'duck' over steamed rice, topped with the remaining spiced plum sauce and garnished with fresh coriander.
